Scott Steindorff

Scott Steindorff began his career as a prominent real estate developer that built large shopping centers in the Southwest and the Midwest. He also built large land developments and retail communities throughout the US while also being involved in his family’s real estate endeavors. Scott was solely responsible for developing an over 2 million square foot retail project which cemented his success as a real estate developer.

He later was a business consultant for Caesars Palace and the Forum shops for Melvin Simon. Afterwards, he wrote the stageplay for EFX at the MGM Grand. Scott moved to Hollywood to write and concentrate on producing full-time and established his own production company in 1998.

Stone Village Productions is an independent film & television finance and production company. Scott is committed to bringing strong stories with broad commercial appeal to the screen and ensuring that Stone Village will grow and evolve while making a lasting contribution to the entertainment industry. Steindorff is well-known in the industry for acquiring and adapting literary properties, and delivering commercially successful and award-winning television series and films. Steindorff is currently Executive producing the HBO Max series “Station Eleven”. Steindorff was an Executive Producer on the Netflix Docu-series “Firechasers” with producing partners Leonardo DiCaprio, his company Appian Way, along with Original Productions. Steindorff Produced the recent western JANE GOT A GUN, starring Natalie Portman, Joel Edgerton and Ewan McGregor, set to be released by Relativity Media and the Weinstein Company in September 2015. Steindorff was Executive Producer on John Favreau’s CHEF, released by Open Road, starring Jon Favreau, Scarlett Johansson, Sofia Vergara, Robert Downey Jr., Dustin Hoffman, Bobby Cannavale and John Leguizamo. Steindorff produced the critical and commercial Success THE LINCOLN LAWYER, with Tom Rosenberg, Gary Lucchesi, and Sidney Kimmel, based on the bestselling Michael Connelly novel starring Matthew McConaughey, Marisa Tomei, William H. Macy and Ryan Phillippe. Steindorff was an executive producer of the hit NBC series LAS VEGAS, starring Josh Duhamel and James Caan. Steindorff teamed with Paul Newman and producer Marc Platt, producing the critically acclaimed and award-winning miniseries for HBO, EMPIRE FALLS, winning a Golden Globe for Best Mini-series or Motion Picture Made for Television and receiving 10 Emmy nominations. Other feature films Steindorff has produced include GIMME SHELTER released by Lionsgate; PENELOPE, by Summit in 2008; LOVE IN THE TIME OF CHOLERA, released by New Line; TURISTAS, released by Twentieth Century Fox; and THE HUMAN STAIN, released by Miramax.

Dylan Russell

Dylan Russell served as an executive at Stone Village Productions since 2001, most recently as the Co-President of Production. 

Currently Russell is an Executive Producer on the HBO Max series “Station Eleven”. Russell was an Executive Producer on the Netflix Docu-series “Firechasers” with producing partners Leonardo DiCaprio, his company Appian Way, along with Original Productions.  Executive Producer of the recent western JANE GOT A GUN, starring Natalie Portman, Joel Edgerton and Ewan McGregor, set to be released by Relativity Media and the Weinstein Company in September 2015.  Russell was Executive Producer on John Favreau’s CHEF released by Open Road in May 2014, starring Jon Favreau, Scarlett Johansson, Sofia Vergara, Robert Downey Jr., Dustin Hoffman, Bobby Cannavale and John Leguizamo.  Russell was an Executive Producer on the 2008 Summit Entertainment film PENELOPE, directed by Mark Palansky starring Christina Ricci, James McAvoy, Catherine O’Hara and Reese Witherspoon where he helped acquire the project when it was in development and oversaw it from its production and post production in London to the release of the film.  Russell was an Executive Producer on 2007 New Line Cinemas film LOVE IN THE TIME OF CHOLERA directed by Mike Newell, from a screenplay by Ronald Harwood, based on the Gabriel García Márquez novel.  This time he negotiated the acquisition of the film rights to the novel, oversaw development and was part of the production and marketing teams for the film.  The film starred Javier Bardem, Giovanna Mezzogiorno and Benjamin Bratt.  Russell was Co-Producer of the 2006 Fox Atomic film TURISTAS, directed by John Stockwell from a screenplay by Michael Ross, starring Josh Duhamel, Olivia Wilde and Melissa George and produced by Scott Steindorff, Mark Butan and Bo Zenga for Stone Village Pictures, 2929 Entertainment and Boz Productions.

Russell enjoys overseeing the marketing, product placement and music soundtrack aspect of some of the Stone Village/Scott Pictures films.  He worked to bring companies like P&G, Microsoft, Dolce & Gabanna, Vespa, Belstaff and Luxottica into past projects.  He initially reached out to Shakira to do music for “Love in the Time of Cholera”, where she was nominated for an Academy Award for her music.  He produced her music video for the soundtrack song “Hay Amores”.  He also supervised the soundtrack for “Penelope”.

Prior to his time at Stone Village Productions and Scott Pictures, Russell worked with Ron Bernstein, Head of the Literary Department at ICM Los Angeles, as well as director Brad Silberling’s Reveal Entertainment, a DreamWorks company, from 2000 to 2001, during production of the feature film MOONLIGHT MILE.
